“SOAR with the Eagles” events for the weekend of March 31st and April 1st
Our feature program this weekend is Wildlife Science Center presenting a program exploring why some animals are considered “unlovable” including wolves, snakes, insects, spiders and owls – Oh My! The Wildlife Science Center is home to the largest captive population of privately maintained wolves in the U.S, as well as black bear, mountain lions, coyotes, skunks, raccoons, porcupine and birds of prey. Saturday 11am and 2pm, Sunday 12pm and 2pm. All feature programs will be held at St Felix auditorium, Pembroke Ave, Wabasha, MN.
The National Eagle Center’s Live Eagle programs will be offered at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, 1;30pm, 2;30pm and 3:30pm in our first floor classroom. Regular NEC admission rates include feature programs and live eagle programs. Any additional fees are noted below.

Saturday, March 31st
9:30am-11am - Photo with an Eagle – Bring your camera and get your photo with one of the National Eagle Center Eagle Ambassadors. $5 with your camera, FREE for NEC members. (additional $5 to get an NEC print of your photo with an eagle)
11am – Wildlife Science Center, our feature presentation. WSC program explores why some animals are considered “unlovable” including wolves, snakes, insects, spiders and owls – Oh My! Meet some of Minnesota’s most misunderstood creatures. St. Felix auditorium, Pembroke Ave.
11:30am – Nature Adventures programs are fun for all ages and inviting even for those who aren’t so fond of snakes. Nature Adventures is an Emmy nominated TV series starring Todd and Terri and a variety of furry, and not so furry, friends. Second floor classroom.
1:00pm – Raising Nature-Smart Kids with Jan Dunlap, author of the humorous Bob White Birder Murder Mystery series will inspire you to get the whole family outside. She’ll share tips for getting your children out the door as well as some of the most recent research on the critical role of outdoor play in child development. Second floor classroom.

1:00 pm – Loon Cam – Larry Backlund will be here to share all that he has learned from watching a loon family that has nests on a platform near his central MN home. Last year’s programs were standing room only! Second floor classroom.

2:00pm – A Photographic Tour of Canadian National Parks with Larry Ricker. Amazing photography of some of the continent’s most astonishing beauty. Take this photographic tour with photographer Larry Ricker who has traveled extensively by car, bike, canoe and foot gathering magnificent photos along the way.

Dick Mindykowski – Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Chippewa craftsman creates woodland gifts created from wood and animal products harvested from the outdoors. Walking sticks, canes, turtle rattles, beaver shields, dream catchers, leather pouches. All hand tanned and carved.
