Some of the best Minnesota has to offer is right here in the southeastern corner of the state.

According to a month-long poll of online readers of USA Today, the National Eagle Center in Wabasha and the Minnesota Marine Art Museum are two of the 10 best Minnesota attractions.

The National Eagle Center took second place in the poll, just behind the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory in St. Paul. The MMAM came in fifth place. Other attractions, in order, in the top 10 included the Minnesota Zoo in Apple Valley, Voyageurs National Park, Canal Park in Duluth at sixth, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, the North Shore Scenic Drive, and Lebanon Hills Regional Park in Eagan.

“This is a really big deal”, said Rolf Thompson, executive director of the National Eagle Center. “We’re extremely proud. For the National Eagle Center to be recognized in this way is not only an honor, but a validation from the public of the world class experience we provide to visitors from around the country and world everyday.”
