Year of the Bird

Celebrating 100 Years of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act

In 2018, we mark the centennial of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, the most powerful and important bird-protection law ever passed. In honor of this milestone, nature lovers around the world are joining forces to celebrate the “Year of the Bird” and commit to protecting birds today and for the next hundred years.

The National Eagle Center is a Proud Year of the Bird Partner Organization

Our mission at the National Eagle Center is “Connecting people with eagles in nature, history, and cultures.” Our environmental education engages over 83,000 visitors every year from around the world through our unique presentation of live eagles, experiential learning opportunities, and outreach programming.

In 2018, the National Eagle Center is proud to partner with the National Audubon Society, National Geographic, BirdLife International, the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, and over 100 other organizations to celebrate the centennial of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.

We invite you to join all of us at the National Eagle Center in the celebration by sharing in year-long messaging, education, advocacy, and calls to action on our social media platforms, National Eagle Center events like SOAR with the Eagles, and the official Year of the Bird website.
