Why is she here?

In July of 1999, Angel was found as a fledgling on the ground near an eagle’s nest. She had a broken bone in her left wing but had been surviving by eating fish scraps that had fallen from nearby heron nests.

Angel was treated at The Raptor Center at the University of Minnesota. Her broken wing healed, but unfortunately Angel is not able to sustain flight and could not be released to the wild.

Shortly after she arrived here, a 4th grade student gave her the name Angel.
